Saturday June 4th ‚Äď Kids Fishing Derby
Open to children 13 years of age and younger, the Kids Fishing Derby will be taking place at Heart Lake in Anacortes, WA from 7:00 AM ‚Äď 11:00 AM. There is no cost; just bring your fishing gear and have fun! Registration will take place the morning of the event.

Saturday June 4th & Sunday June 5th – Anacortes Waterfront Festival
‚ÄúThe Anacortes Waterfront Festival is all about letting your inner sailor embrace life on the water‚ÄĚ.

Located at the beautiful Cap Sante Marina (1019 Q Avenue in Anacortes, WA), the Waterfront Festival is a chance to take advantage of what makes Anacortes special!

Some of the events at the Anacortes Waterfront Festival include:
‚ÄĘ Free Boat Rides: The first boat heads out at 10:00 AM on both Saturday and Sunday, with sign-ups beginning at 9:45 AM. Drop by the gazebo by the Marina office for details!
‚ÄĘ Quick and Dirty Boat Building Demonstration: teams work on Saturday to build boats out of limited materials then compete by demonstrating floatability. Registration details are on the festival website!
‚ÄĘ Milk Carton Derby: Awards will be given for Most Creative Derby Vessel, First Crew Across the Finish Line, Most Creative, and It Floats!
‚ÄĘ Trail Tales: self-guided walking tours of the waterfront.

Bark in the Park
Bark in the Park is the best Anacortes event for dog lovers! Bring your dogs to Storvik Park on June 18th and give them a chance to walk in the parade with other dogs, participate in the peanut butter eating contest, watch the Agility Demonstration and more!

Anacortes Spring Wine Festival

It is that time of the year again! The annual Spring Wine Festival will be this Saturday, April 11, 2015.

The festival will feature 32 wineries from across Washington State and 6 local restaurants that will provide tasty bites to pair with the delicious wine. If you enjoy good wine this is the place to be! If you are not a wine connoisseur, this is the perfect opportunity to try and explore the different wines that Washington State has to offer.

The Anacortes Spring Wine Festival will be at the Port Warehouse Event Center this Saturday April 11, 2015 from 12noon to 4:30pm. Must be 21 or older to attend and no children or pets are allowed. Tickets at the door will be $45 general admission and $25 for designated drivers. General admission tickets include tasting glass, unlimited wine tasting, bites from restaurants, chocolate and cheese tastings!

Rain or shine, the Anacortes Spring Wine Festival has been a local favorite for 7 years! Come and enjoy great wine, food, music and entertainment.

Happy Easter Weekend!

We would like to wish everyone  a Happy Easter!

Here in Anacortes if you are looking for something to do for the Easter holiday, The annual Egg Dash is today at 6 pm! This event is located at Storvik Park this event is for ages 12 and under and is FREE! Kids will get the chance to collect plastic eggs filled with candy and other fun surprises! This event is rain or shine, please dress comfortably for rain!!

If you are looking for an indoor activity, you and your family can decorate eggs together Friday from 4pm-7pm and again on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm! This event is at the Sedro-Woolley Hometown Cafe located at 818 Metcalf Street. For only $9.99, you will be supplied with eggs, food coloring, stickers, crayons/markers and other decorations. The price includes a kid’s entrée and drink. $4.99 for each additional dozen Easter eggs. Parents will get 15% off menu items and specials. An R.S.V.P is requested but it is not required. There will have a coloring contest, pictures and prizes; come join the fun!

April 3rd: Country Meadow Village Easter Egg Hunt –¬†2pm¬†–¬†We cordially invite all kids up to age 10 plus parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to our Annual Country Meadow Village Easter Egg Hunt (rain or shine). April 4th:¬†Burlington Easter Egg Hunt – 10am – This event hosted by Burlington-Edison Kiwanis is open for children 1-8yrs of age. The hunts will be separated into age groups: 1-3yrs; 4-5yrs; 6-8yrs. April 4th: Sedro-Woolley Easter Egg Hunt Р1pm РThe Annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place at Riverfront Park.  Children ages crawler to 12 years are welcome to come participate in this family fun event!  Candy filled easter eggs and candy are spread throughout the grass sectioned off by age group waiting for your little one to hunt.  The Wildcat Steelhead Club puts on this annual event with the Sedro-Woolley Chamber. Lots of eggs will be hidden throughout the church building for the kids to find – with separate areas for the younger and older children. Coffee and cookies will be available, as well. Our main entrance is located along Avon-Allen Road at the northwest corner of the building. April 4th:¬†Teen Flaghlight Easter Egg Hunt – 8pm – The Burlington Healthy Community Coalition (BHCC) is organizing another H.U.B. Project event ‚Äď Burlington Teen Flashlight Egg Hunt!¬† The event will be held at the Whitmarsh Fields with support from the City of Burlington and Kiwanis.¬† The event is intended to provide a safe and fun activity for Burlington teens.¬† The H.U.B. Project (Help Unify Burlington) has a mission of uniting the citizens of Burlington in creating a safe and healthy place for our youth to grow and develop.¬†¬†FREE EVENT

10th Annual Bark in the Park – Anacortes

Hope everyone had fun at the Waterfront Festival last weekend! The summer events in Anacortes continue this weekend with the 10th Annual Bark in the Park.

As the name suggests, this event is all about our four legged, furry little friends! The gathering location will be  at the Storvik Park starting at 10am.  There will be a lot of activities through out the day including a dog parade, games, contests and demos that are sure to entertain everyone attending.

As in previous years, the event is to benefit the Anacortes Dog Park and there is an event/contest entry donation of $5 per dog.

So don’t forget this Saturday June 14 @ 10am – Storvik Park on 32nd St in Anacortes. See you there!

Anacortes Waterfront Festival 2014

25th Anniversary

The Anacortes Waterfront Festival is celebrating its 25th year anniversary! Unlike the 2013 Anacortes Waterfront Festival, this year they added even more music and entertainment.

This fun filled weekend event will have activities for everyone including: car shows, art shows, community dance, boat shows, milk carton derby, boat building demonstration, remote controlled sail boats, guided walking tours, music, lots of food and FREE boat rides!

A Formation Flyover by the BlackJack Squadron will be included this year in honor of D-Day and the 25th Anniversary.

It is going to be a beautiful weekend in Anacortes so gather your friends and family and plan your day at the Anacortes Waterfront Festival, one of the most popular festivals in Skagit County.
