Skagit Among Washington’s Top 10 Healthiest Counties

SkagitCountySeal

Skagit County is the 9th healthiest county in Washington state, up from 13th healthiest in 2016.

A recently completed needs assessment and countywide action plan will help the county, medical providers and community organizations improve health outcomes for local residents.

As a result of the new community health rankings, and the Population Health Trust Community Assessment, the county intends to work with community partners to focus on child and maternal health in 2017, with the goal of improving health outcomes countywide.

There are several important questions you need to ask yourself when considering a reverse mortgage.

The answers to these questions will help determine if a reverse mortgage is right for you, and how you should structure it. These questions also help prepare you for the time when you no longer need the reverse mortgage (you and your spouse pass away, you move out of the home, or you sell the home).

Watercraft Registration Expires June 30

Skyline Aerial View

Content from Skagit County

If you own a boat or other watercraft, now’s the time to renew your registration in time for the Anacortes boating season!

All watercraft registration expires June 30, 2017. The Skagit County Auditor’s Office urges you not to wait to renew your registration as the lines may be long.

The vast majority of vessels registered in Washington have HIN numbers that comply with the new Coast Guard standards, but some vessels are required to have new HIN numbers assigned to meet the US Coast Guard standards.
The involved vessel owners have already been sent letters by DOL notifying them that they are required to get new HIN Numbers.

Standard watercraft renewal can be done in person and local licensing offices or online, at http://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/renewboat.html. You can choose to have decals mailed to you or you can pick them up locally – even if you register online.

For a list of local licensing offices, or to sign up for an annual online renewal reminder, visit the Skagit County Auditor’s Office licensing page: www.skagitcounty.net/AuditorLicensing.

How Hard is it to Get a Mortgage in 2017?

Dean-Hayes

From our guest blogger Dean Hayes with Bay Equity Home Loans

How hard is it to get a mortgage in 2017?

Another way to ask this question is – what is the current mortgage credit availability?

Some people are thinking that it’s too easy to qualify for a mortgage today – that we’re headed for another housing bubble. And if your entire existence in the housing market has been after 2009 (i.e. you never owned a home or thought about owning a home prior to 2009), then it might look that way to you.
